History live and in person

Today Emily's 2nd grade class put on a living museum. For this class project the kids selected a famous American to do a presentation on and, later, portray in this living museum. One boy was Michael Jordon. Another was Thomas Edison. One girl portrayed Sally Ride, and another Annie Oakley. (I must admit distress after one girl chose Miley Cyrus and another Ashley Tisdale for their "famous Americans".) Emily chose Elizabeth Blackwell as her famous American after reading a Judy Moody book.

While the project was a complete success I must admit to being a little unsettled. If I see any more young boys looking at my daughter like this again I may go ballistic.

Boys, you have been warned.

If you look closely at those little boys, you see two different reactions to her - one is "Yeah, I think she likes me" and the other one is "Hubba Hubba". Better buy that girl an Armored Car.

I'd totally be Robert Frost if I ever did that. Or I could get a white mustache and be Mark Twain.

Do you need to borrow my dad? He is scary and scared off all the boys.

I can hardly blame them, OMG she's ADORABLE!!! You really done good! But since she is rather young, would you like to borrow my BDU's combat boots and a rather large firearm with cleaning instructions???

HaHaHa...
They are probably staring at Emily's adorable eyes! And how proper that the three of them are standing politely three steps away.. lol.
What a fun event to dress up as the character. And great that you were able to visit to capture it on photos.
Happy Weekend to ya, Elizabeth!

That is so freakin' cute! You might have to get a shotgun, though. I love how they are completely oblivious to the fact that you are taking their picture.

Woah. They are seriously checking her out. Those little pervs!

Hmmmm.... one day my son will be one of those boys, I'm sure of it. So I apologize in advance as he comes from a long line of perverts (including his mother)and the child won't be able to help it.

Elizabeth,

Emily looks fantastic! What a great way to get into historic characters!
I think I would have made a list of choices that went along with historic people we studied, or at least fit in with the curriculum in the way of context, to prevent a few of the choices you mentioned. That is just me though.

I had to chuckle at that candid picture of the boys looking at her. Priceless!

Would you please put the missing comma where it belongs in comment on your make-up blog? ;)
